Halászlé

Halászlé and roasted hake
» Marina with house boats on the left river banks of the Danube behind Slovnaft, where the bicycle route begins. They make the best halászlé (hungarian fish soup) here (€ 3). The other thing that one has to try here is the roasted hake fish. Of course, it has all been freshly caught, no Tesco whatsoever. Behind the marina a protected nature reserve begins, the Kopáč island. A beautiful place, with the original riparian forest and branches of the Danube river. There is a gamekeeper’s house in the middle with goats and horses. All this is surrounded by the bicycle route, lined with cabins with kofola and beer. The funny thing is that it is all in the neighborhood with Slovnaft refinery and the city incinerator. «
