„As I haven't been there for some time, I can only make my observation points from the position of a witness. A true urban legend… you can still sit down on a spot where Svätopluk Mikyta (well-known slovak artist) spent years of his progressive youth and has drawn hundreds of his drawings, some of them bearing stains from beer or coffee. It can only be compared to a pub in Prague called U zlatého tygra, where Hrabal used to have his chair. That spot is located right at the entry, behind the store window, in the corner. This is how Sväťo maintained contacts both with the street and new people coming in. Everyone who sat down opposite him, had to struggle with the draft to his lower back, so he either needed to have a few shots right away or move along to the bar. I have to stress in particular the importance of the wooden tiling in the shape of he pioneer flag, which tends to take new meanings after a few shots. It is also a favored pub of junior years of students from both art schools, one can encounter here the ever-yelling and "entertaining" professor named Trockij, who vacates half of the place when in the mood…Sometimes it gets pretty smoky, but it still maintains the great atmosphere."
